Canaccord’s on the move east
THE office changes continue in the City’s small broking sector, with those who have made it into the new Canaccord Genuity Collins Stewart venture moving this week from Canaccord’s Victoria offices to join their new colleagues in the Collins Stewart’s Wood Street offices. There will be around 100 people making the journey across town from Canadian group Canaccord after 50 or so colleagues were made redundant. Together with the 50 or so that have departed the ranks of Collins Stewart, the Wood Street offices will house around 50 more people than before, spread across the three floors. The new chief executive of the combined group is Collins Stewart’s Mark Brown, with Canaccord’s Tim Hoare taking the position of chairman. Hawkpoint, which is the mergers and acquisitions division of the group, will remain just off Bishopsgate. Canaccord’s trading team has made the move, with investment bankers joining their colleagues next Monday. Will the wooden model of a Canadian mountie that stands on guard outside the main meeting room at Canaccord’s offices make the trip too?
