Higgins launches bid to clear his name in frame-fixing probe
JOHN HIGGINS will finally discover his fate regarding frame-fixing allegations over the next 48 hours.
The three-time world champion will face an independent tribunal over two days in a bid to clear his name and be granted a return to the sport.
Scot Higgins was accused by a Sunday newspaper of agreeing to accept money to influence the outcome of matches played later this year.
Although he denies the claims, Higgins was subsequently suspended and warned he would face “severe” punishment if proven guilty.
If cleared, Higgins could make his playing comeback at the World Open in Glasgow on 18 September.
