Metrodome buys Psycho rights owner for £1.6m
BREAKFAST at Tiffany’s rights owner Hollywood Classics has been snapped up by Metrodome in a deal worth £1.6m.
Metrodome will gain access to 600 independent movies as well as 100 classic films from studios including Universal, Paramount, Twentieth Century Fox, Warner Bros and the UK Film Council. Highlights include the Godfather and Alfred Hitchcock classic Psycho.
Metrodome will partly fund the acquisition through the placement of £967,000 worth of new shares. Luke Johnson (pictured), best known for his involvement with Pizza Express, was the biggest single investor, taking his holding in the firm to 8.6 per cent.
He will join the board in September as a non-executive director.
Hollywood Classics reported profits of £510,000 last year on revenue of £6.7m.
