Arbuthnot Securities
The investment banking firm has hired Craig Fraser as its new head of research.
Fraser was most recently deputy head of research at Liberum Capital and also previously ran the large cap pan-European leisure and business services research teams at Goldman Sachs, Lehman Brothers and CSFB.
Arbuthnot has also taken on Nick Spoliar from Altium as a senior analyst covering a range of support services stocks.
BLME
Bank of London and the Middle East, the wholesale Sharia’a compliant bank, has set up an Islamic capital markets desk in London, to be headed by Dr Massoud Janekeh.
Janekeh was most recently head of trade and business finance at the bank. He will now be responsible for managing the new desk, which will offer the market with alternatives to conventional financing instruments, such as sukuk and other Islamic investment products.
Olswang
Andrew Aglionby is joining the law firm as an international arbitration and construction partner, effective from October.
Aglionby moved back to London for the role from Hong Kong, where he was a partner in Baker and McKenzie’s dispute resolution group, head of construction in Hong Kong and head of international arbitration for the Asia-Pacific region.
BAE Systems
The defence group has hired Harriet Green, the chief executive and executive director of technology distributor Premier Farnell, as a non-executive, effective from November.
Green joined Premier Farnell in 2006. She is also a non-executive at US manufacturing and technology firm Emerson Electric and recently received an OBE for services to the electronics industry.
CB Richard Ellis
Simon Blake is to rejoin the property firm as head of capital markets UK.
Blake previously headed up the business space team at CBRE for four years, before leaving to set up fund manager Altyon Partners with Simon Holley. Blake will continue to advise Altyon Partners, while Holley remains a consultant to CBRE.
The pair also previously worked together on setting up Holley Blake in 1996, subsequently acquired by CBRE.
