Air Partner aids rescues
PLANE hire company Air Partner more than doubled its pre-tax profit in the six months to the end of January to £2.9m, and the firm is set for further growth as it helps move people and supplies through countries hit by emergencies.
The FTSE-listed company said its emergency planning teams were providing support for the evacuations in Egypt, Libya, Tunisia, New Zealand and Japan, which is likely to boost profits in the second-half of the year.
Air Partner has a four-year contract with the UK government to make almost half of the country’s humanitarian flights.
The company has transported more than 12,000 people and 300 tonnes of aid around the world since the start of 2011, including ongoing flights in and out of Nagano, Japan on behalf of German car-makers.
First-half revenue grew 36 per cent to £130.9m, Air Partner said.
