Santander loses a third exec to Lloyds
LLOYDS chief Antonio Horta-Osorio has poached another top executive off the board he led at Santander UK, completing a clear-out of the execs that headed the bank under his leadership.
Alison Brittain, executive director for retail distribution and intermediaries at Santander UK, will join Lloyds in September as head of its Lloyds TSB and Bank of Scotland branch network.
Brittain will be the fourth top manager and the third former Santander executive director to move to Lloyds, following in the footsteps of Antonio Lorenzo and Juan Colombas, whom Horta-Osorio took with him promptly after leaving his former post.
In addition, Santander UK’s former head of communications Matthew Young recently moved to a similar role in charge of corporate affairs at Lloyds.
It is understood that Santander UK?chief Ana Botin already has a candidate lined up to replace Brittain as head of retail, however, whom she regards as the “last piece of the puzzle” in her executive team.
