Third way for London 2012 ticket hopefuls
LONDON 2012 ticket applicants who failed in the first two rounds of sales are to be given first refusal on the next batch of 90,000 seats, which will be released from Friday at 11am.
The 20,000 Olympics fans who missed out in the initial ballot and second chance sale will have 31 hours of exclusive access to the remaining seats for all events.
A further 1m people who failed in the ballot will then have five days of first refusal from Sunday 13 May, with each day seeing new sports made available.
Buyers will be limited to snapping up seats for one session, with four tickets the maximum. Remaining tickets will be released on general sale on 23 May.
“We know thousands of sports fans were disappointed when they missed out in the initial sales period because of the massive demand for tickets,” said London 2012 chair Lord Coe. “We promised we would prioritise these fans when we released the contingency tickets.”
Those without tickets for specific events will be able to buy passes for the Olympic Park, where big screens will show the live sport, for £10 (£5 concessions).
Entry to the Orbit and its observation deck will cost £15 (£7 concessions), while passes for Wimbledon’s Henman Hill and big screen, not including seats for the courts, will cost £10 (£5 concessions).
Cycling fans will be able to buy tickets for the road race and the individual time trial from 29 May, with adult tickets costing £10-15.
