Ex-MPC member Barker takes private equity role
FORMER Bank of England Monetary Policy Committee member Kate Barker has snapped up her second high-profile corporate appointment in just a few weeks, having agreed to take up a role as a non-executive director on the board of Electra Private Equity.
Electra, which has investments in household names such as insurer Esure and feminine hygiene group Lil-lets, is this morning set to announce the appointment of Barker to its board, effective from November.
The move comes after Barker earlier this month accepted a post as a senior adviser to banking giant Credit Suisse. She stepped down from the MPC in May this year after nine years in the position.
Electra is chaired by Colette Bowe, the chairman of communications regulator Ofcom.
