Will Olympic torch come down your road? Flame route details revealed
STREET-LEVEL details of the 8,000-mile journey that the Olympic flame will travel throughout the British Isles on its way to Stratford this summer have been released for the first time.
It includes unprecedented insight into the torch’s route through the capital in the final legs of its journey, which will include a visit to the City.
The flame will also skirt the edge of the Square Mile on the afternoon of Saturday 21 July, when it will travel up Commercial Road before heading north up Shoreditch High Street towards Hackney.
Details of the final two days of the relay, including a visit to the City, will be revealed next month.
London 2012 chiefs have also confirmed names of 7,300 of the 8,000 torchbearers who will accompany the flame on its 70-day tour, which begins in Land’s End on 19 May, after arriving by air the previous day.
The journey concludes on 27 July, when the flame will be used to light the cauldron in the Olympic Park, marking the official start of the Games.

Greenwich
Saturday 21 July, from 7:21am
Torchbearers will carry the flame along Woolwich Road and down through Blackheath before turning north at Eltham High Street and back up towards the bank of the Thames at Woolwich.
East London / City / Shoreditch
Saturday 21 July, 10:20am
Starting at King George V Docks, the flame will travel north, crossing Newham Way and Barking Road before turning left along Romford Road. It will pass along Bow Road, Mile End Road and Whitechapel Road before swinging north onto Commercial Street. Meeting Shoreditch High Street, it heads all the way up Kingsland Road, crossing the Regents Canal, through Dalston and onto Stoke Newington.
Wimbledon / Wandsworth / Balham
Monday 23 July, 5:30pm
Having travelled through Mitcham and Merton earlier in the day, the flame will make its way to Wimbledon Park late in the afternoon before heading east once more to Tooting Bec Common for an evening celebration.
Kingston / Richmond
Tuesday 24 July, from 8:22am
Starting on Hook Road, the flame moves north through Surbiton and Kingston Upon Thames and up Richmond Road, hugging the western fringes of Richmond Park, along Kew Road and across the river just before midday.
Hampstead / Camden / Islington / City / Southwark / Kensington / Hammersmith / Westminster
Thursday 26 July
The exact route for the penultimate stage has not been revealed yet, but begins in Alexandra Park and, via a passage through the Square Mile, ends up in the shadow of the Houses of Parliament, in Westminster.
