It got people out and about but having said that, the two days off didn’t do any favours for businesses. It’s good for shops and restaurants but probably bad for financial services in the City of London.

It’s re-ignited the global interest in this country – one of my colleagues was in America when it was happening. He’s got family who live there and they were watching all of it. I think it’s been massively successful.

I think it was beneficial because of the volume of people in London and all the shops that were open. Seeing the monarchy as a connected group again is really good and the volume of people who turned up in the rain is testimony to the fact that they are still popular.
