Are you more Optimistic about the Economy than a year ago?

The same. There’s no indication that things are going to get worse; we’re close to the bottom of where we were going to be anyway. By the same token I don’t see any green shoots of recovery.

I’m actually more optimistic. I know the economy could be better, but I feel that the Olympics gave us an optimistic atmosphere; that will help us get through it. Last year we had a lot of uncertainty, whereas now we know how bad it is, and we can start to recover.

I’m less optimistic. The UK is creating a pile of debt, and last week the chancellor said it is going to take even longer to get rid of the deficit. I’m afraid it’ll be the same or even worse in one year’s time.
