If they feel it’s within the borders of good ethics, I guess they can. But I think they should follow the lead of Starbucks in order to preserve integrity in the eyes of the consumer.

I don’t blame Google for avoiding tax, that’s the way our laws work. The firm employs thousands of people and if it had to pay more taxes it may have to make redundancies. You’ve got to find a balance.

I think ‘proud’ is a strange word to use. They should be ‘confident’, not ‘proud’. ‘Proud’ makes Google sound like it’s being rather smug about the situation.
