Japanese airlines ground Boeing Dreamliner jets following emergency landing
Japan’s two main airlines grounded their fleets of Boeing 787s today, as one Dreamliner passenger jet was forced to make an emergency landing.
All Nippon Airways, which grounded all 17 of its 787 fleet, said instruments picked up a battery error on one of its domestic flights, which triggered an emergency warning to the pilots.
Japan Airlines has suspended all its 787 flights scheduled for today. The two carriers operate around half of the 50 Dreamliners in service.
Today’s incident is the latest in a string for Boeing. Over the past few weeks, Dreamliners have suffered problems including fuel leaks, a battery fire, wiring issues and a cracked cockpit window.
