Ex-Sussex duo charged with match-fixing
FORMER Sussex cricketers Lou Vincent and Naved Arif have been charged with multiple match-fixing offences by the England and Wales Cricket Board.
Vincent, who won 23 Test caps for New Zealand, has been charged with 14 offences in relation to fixing the outcome of a Twenty20 match against Lancashire and a 40-over game against Kent, both staged in 2011.
Left-arm bowler Arif has been charged with six offences relating to the latter match.
The ECB said in a statement: “Both players have been provisionally suspended from all cricketing activities organised, authorised or supported by the ECB, International Cricket Council, and other national cricket federation and any member of any other national cricket federation.”
Both players face lifetime bans from the sport if found guilty.
