Investor Relations Society
The professional body for the investor relations profession has appointed John Gollifer as its new general manager. He succeeds Michael Mitchell, who retires at the end of 2012. Gollifer is a former head of investor relations for the Singapore Exchange, and was involved in establishing the Investor Relations Professionals Association in Singapore. He started his career at Barclays, and has also held senior roles at BNP Paribas and ABN Amro.
Marex Spectron
Jack Allen has been appointed as a senior precious metals trader at the financial products brokerage. He has over 30 years’ experience in the precious metals industry and joins from Societe Generale, where he set up and managed its precious metals sales desk. Allen has also previously run the gold dealing books at Deutsche Bank, AIG and Natixis.
AG Barr
The soft drinks group has appointed John Nicolson to its board as a non-executive director, effective January 2013. He is currently president of Heineken Americas, and has also been deputy chairman of Compania Cervecerias Unidas since 2009. Nicolson has a long career in consumer goods, and has previously held senior management positions at a variety of Russian breweries.
Ashcourt Rowan
The wealth management firm has appointed Alan Scrimger as head of its funds research division. He will report to Ashcourt Rowan’s chief investment officer Toni Meadows. Scrimger joins from Standard Life Investments, where he was co-head of funds research. In his new role, he will be responsible for enhancing the firm’s research proposition.
Savills
Charlie Walsh has been appointed head of exhibition and overseas sales in the real estate advisory firm’s London residential development team. He originally started at the firm in 2003, and he will continue to work with the existing London team in marketing UK developments overseas.
