Quins still bear Wasps scars as rematch looms
HARLEQUINS centre Matt Hopper insists they have learned the lessons of a dramatic opening day victory ahead of tomorrow’s return Aviva Premiership clash with Wasps.
Leaders Quins were shocked by their London rivals in the season’s curtain raiser at Twickenham, falling 40-13 behind before an astonishing comeback saw them snatch a 42-40 win.
“We know exactly what they are capable of after the first game,” said Hopper. “For the first 55 minutes they blew us away so we are all aware of the threat they pose. We’ve looked at what they do and how we can stop them but training is more about getting our heads down and focusing on what we can do.”
Second-placed Saracens, who have not lost an away game since November, will look to keep on the heels of their London rivals when they travel to the Madejski Stadium to take on relegation-threatened London Irish.
Elsewhere London Welsh face a huge test of their Premiership credentials when visit Welford Road to face Leicester Tigers.
