Scots finances prompt scrap
THE TWO sides of the Scottish independence debate went head to head yesterday over the state of the nation’s finances if it votes for independence later this year.
Launching a report in Edinburgh, Scottish first minister Alex Salmond said an independent Scotland could generate £1,000 extra revenue per head in 15 years without tax hikes.
Chief secretary to the Treasury Danny Alexander claimed Scottish citizens would benefit to the tune of £1,400 per person per year from 2016-17 as part of the UK.
