Thai confidence returning
Consumer confidence in Thailand rose last month for the first time in more than a year on hopes that the new military government will stabilise the country. The University of the Thai Chamber of Commerce, which runs an index on consumer confidence, said consumer confidence had risen to 70.7 in May, up from 67.8 in April, which was the lowest level since November 2001. The military coup ended on 22 May.
