Pictures: Take a look inside John Lewis’ first ever airport store at Heathrow
Heathrow's new Terminal 2 has greeted its first passengers this morning, with the first inbound flight from Chicago arriving at 5.49am.
And ready to welcome outbound passengers was John Lewis, marking the opening of its first ever airport shop.
Doors opened at 5.30am this morning, as passengers heading to Washington came through the newly refurbished terminal.
The shop is 3,600 square feet – the biggest in the terminal that’s been allocated to a fashion-led brand.
It offers travellers many familiar John Lewis staples, along with several international brands it houses. The Heathrow store is the retailer’s 42nd.
Paula Nickolds, buying and brand director at John Lewis said:
This opening is a significant step forward in developing our international strategy. Terminal 2 will serve 20m passengers each year and will offer John Lewis access to one of the most concentrated, valuable and influential markets in the world.
