We’re proud to support Epsom

HEAD OF GLOBAL MARKETING, INVESTEC
ON BEHALF of Investec, I am delighted to welcome City A.M. readers old and new to the greatest flat racing event in the world, the 2014 Investec Derby Festival. Now in our sixth year of sponsorship of this illustrious and historic occasion, we grow ever more inspired by the Derby’s values and heritage. On Ladies Day we are thrilled to be joined by Test Match captain Alastair Cook and Ryder Cup captain Paul McGinley to watch this year’s prestigious Investec Oaks unfold. This year, the Oaks was run in memory of the late Sir Henry Cecil to celebrate his extraordinary career and contribution to racing. We have been honoured to have Lady Cecil with us at the festival to present the beautiful new perpetual Investec Oaks trophy designed by Charlie Langton to this year’s deserving winner, Taghrooda. Once again we are privileged that HM The Queen will attend the festival on Derby Day, along with the official face of the Derby, supermodel and fashion icon Jodie Kidd. For us, Jodie epitomises the duality between glamour and horseracing at the Derby, and it’s been a privilege to work with someone with equal passion for both. Alongside the Derby, another of our sponsorships, England Test Cricket, will unveil their new squad against Sri Lanka at Lord’s next week. We are proud to have the squad celebrate the Investec Derby with us on Saturday before their season begins and watch the drama unfold. Will Aidan O’Briens Australia win the Derby despite strengthening support for stablemate Geoffrey Chaucer? With a staggering audience of 1bn expected to tune in to watch the famous race, our media partner Channel 4 will be broadcasting live from Epsom from 1pm today and throughout the weekend. As always, they will be delivering outstanding live coverage of the race that captures the heart of millions, the Investec Derby, at 4pm tomorrow. I hope you can join us.
“WE ARE greatly privileged to be sponsoring the annual Investec Derby Festival, now for the sixth time. The event has always been a joy to attend, and we are proud to be associated as a long term partner of this outstanding event. With this year’s line-up of horses, including the hotly anticipated Australia and stable-mate Geoffrey Chaucer, I am thoroughly looking forward to watching this year’s Investec Derby unfold.”
