Just Eat gobbles up tech gongs
TAKEAWAY tech star Just Eat cleaned up at the inaugural Digital Masters Awards at One Mayfair last night. Its chief financial and marketing officers picked up awards in their categories with CEO David Buttress just (pun intended) missing out on the top chief gong to King co-founder Riccardo Zacconi.
Also just pipped to the top chief exec title was Alex “fresh out of IPO gates, share price rising” Chesterman. Despite being named runner-up, the Zoopla boss didn’t pop along – presumably too caught up in the IPO afterglow to make it to a big event. His co-founder
Simon Kain was pipped to the Excellence in Technology post, also named as a runner-up. No doubt a successful first day trading softened that particular blow.
■ SHAREHOLDERS of London Capital Group have had a roller coaster start to the week. On Monday night, the firm issued a Proposed Financing announcement, heralding the intention to raise some £17,500,000 million. A nice flow of money heading for the company, you’d agree.
Yesterday however, an amendment came flying out: “The first sentence of the announcement incorrectly contained the word ‘million’, which has now been removed,” they said – it was just £17,500,000 after all. A mistake of that magnitude has never been seen on the pages of this paper, that’s for sure.
