Promotions for Bank of America equity capital markets chiefs
BANK of America Merrill Lynch yesterday promoted London-based equity capital markets (ECM) boss Craig Coben to co-head of global ECM.
Coben – the brother of crime novelist Harlan – has headed the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) unit since 2009.
Over the five-year stint, he has worked on some of the biggest deals in the world, including the Lloyds Bank re-privatisation and Barclays’ rights issue, both last year.
He joined as a managing director in 2005, having reached that rank previously at Deutsche Bank.
The other global co-head is Mary Ann Deignan, Coben’s counterpart in the Americas. She will remain based in New York.
The third promotion was J.D. Moriarty, head of technology ECM, who has been given Deignan’s role as head of Americas ECM.
The jobs were announced by head of Global Capital Markets Jim Probert, in an internal memo seen by City A.M.
