Peter Cruddas joins Business for Britain in January board revamp
BILLIONAIRE businessman Peter Cruddas has joined the board of Business for Britain, an independent group campaigning for a better deal from the EU.
Cruddas is one of eight new board members at the group, headed up by Matthew Elliott, founder of the Taxpayers’ Alliance. Other new faces include Adrian McAlpine, partner at Sir Robert McAlpine; Robert Hiscox, honorary president at Hiscox and Brian Kingham, chairman of the Reliance Security Group.
Elliott said: “The debate on Britain’s relationship with the EU is heating up and the impressive list of names signed up to Business for Britain’s new board shows the business community is looking to get engaged.” He added that the group would shortly bring forward a proposal for a renegotiation of EU membership and urged the government to take note.
