City Moves for 17 July 2013| Who’s switching jobs
HSBC
The bank has announced the appointment of Alison McGregor as chief executive for Scotland. McGregor joined HSBC in March as a director of corporate banking. She has previously held senior roles at Clydesdale Bank and Barclays.
BNY Mellon
The investment company has recruited Anil Dala as market manager for treasury services in Europe, the Middle East and Africa. He joins from Pershing, where he was responsible for the development of business solutions. Prior to that, he held various positions at Barclays Wealth and Lloyds.
Osborne Clarke
The law firm has announced two new hires. Ian Wilkinson and Colin Kearney join as joint heads of its real estate practice.
Atrium European Real Estate
Sona Hybnerova has been appointed chief financial officer at the real estate company. Prior to joining eight years ago, she worked in the audit and advisory team at Deloitte.
Association for Financial Markets in Europe
The association has named Frederic Janbon as chairman elect. Janbon is currently global head of fixed income, member of the executive board – corporate and investment banking – and member of the group executive committee at BNP Paribas.
Jupiter Absolute Return Fund
James Clunie has been appointed manager of the fund from September 2013. He has 24 years’ experience in investment management, including as manager of the SWIP UK Flexible Strategy Fund. He is a former senior lecturer at the University of Edinburgh, and has previously worked at Aberdeen Asset Management.
Kleinwort Benson
The private bank has hired Marc Thatcher as director for principal investments and advisory. Thatcher has over 20 years’ debt advisory experience, and was most recently managing director at Macquarie. Prior to that, he worked at Davidson Kempner Capital Management and Rothschild.
Crossbridge
Louise Courtman has been appointed partner at the capital markets consultancy firm. Her career began at Goldman Sachs, where she specialised in operations. She joined Crossbridge in 2009 and became its first associate partner in 2011.
