Mixed results for Dentons and Travers
LAW FIRM Dentons unveiled its first set of financial results since its merger yesterday, securing its place among the top 20 law firms in the world with revenues of £829.7m.
Dentons, which was born out of a merger between SNR Denton, Canadian firm Fraser Milner Casgrain, and Salans, posted net income of £225.2m, but did not provide a geographical breakdown of the figures.
The newly combined firm operates under a Swiss Verein structure, which means parts of the businesses can operate separately, but the report combined revenues based on overlapping financial years.
The firm’s biggest slice of revenue came from its corporate practice, which brought in 61 per cent of turnover.
This was followed by litigation work with 20 per cent, property work contributing 10 per cent, and the finance practice, which made up nine per cent of revenues. Profits per partner were £452,000.
Meanwhile revenues at fellow London firm Travers Smith grew by three per cent for the 2012-13 financial year, rising to £86.2m from £83.8m.
