Lord King not so retiring with new title and a US job
IT WAS all change for the former Bank of England governor yesterday. Not only did the former Sir Mervyn become Lord King of Lothbury, after being officially introduced in the House of Lords, he also accepted a new job over the pond in America.
New York University’s Stern School of Business announced that Lord King will take up the role of “distinguished visiting professor” in September: “His leadership through the 2008 financial crisis and its aftermath will be a rich source of insight for the entire Stern community,” said Dean of the business school Peter Henry.
Looks like his won’t be such a quiet retirement after all.
