Woodford adds to sales line up at new venture
NEIL Woodford, the UK’s most powerful fund manager, has poached his former salesman to come and work with him in a new role at Oakley Capital Management.
The fund star, who leaves his current role at fund house Invesco Perpetual at the end of April, has recruited former Invesco head of equity products Nick Hamilton to come on board with his new venture. Hamilton is currently based out in Sydney working for Colonial First State but will return to UK shores to work with Woodford.
The move follows the appointment of another Invesco sales alumnus, Craig Newman, to head retail asset management at Oakley. “Nick shares our vision of building a market leading asset management business of the future,” Newman said.
