Anderson prepared to wait to complete Australia series win
SWING bowler James Anderson insists England are in no hurry to turn the screw on Australia as they enjoy a week off ahead of the third Ashes Test at Old Trafford.
England need to win just one of the three remaining Tests to retain the Ashes.
However, having been able to enjoy just three days rest between the first two Tests, Anderson admits he is glad of some respite.
“It is crucial we all get a good rest and we can reset mentally and look forward to the challenge ahead,” said the 30-year-old. “It can be difficult to relax because it does take a lot out of you mentally.
“The first game at Trent Bridge was very emotional and very tight. And back-to-back Tests can be very challenging physically.”
