■ While many City fitties were pounding the streets of the capital for the London Triathlon this weekend, a smaller group donned trainers and Speedos for a less competitive race. Barclays banker Jim Westropp and friends from BNP Paribas, Partners Capital and CBRE ran six miles around town dressed only in brightly coloured pairs of the revealing budgie smuggler pants. The run was to raise money for the Peter Westropp Memorial Trust, in honour of the surveyor from property consultancy firm Gerald Eve who was killed by falling masonry outside a Battersea pub in 2011. Luckily they were all home and dry before the evening downpour, or they might have had to put the robustness of their outfits to the test.
