Ex-BGC broker banned for Tullett poaching
A FORMER executive at broker BGC has been banned from senior roles in financial services after he tried to encourage staff at rival Tullett Prebon to break their contracts and work for him.
Anthony Verrier was accused of hiding evidence by reporting eight Blackberries lost between April 2008 and April 2009, so incriminating texts on them would not be seen.
He had previously worked at Tullett and when he moved to BGC tried to persuade other staff to break their contracts and move with him, successfully persuading thirteen to sign contracts to move.
The Financial Conduct Authority said he will not again work in any regulated activity in the industry.
“Trust will not be restored in financial services unless professionals within it can be relied upon to act with integrity,” said FCA enforcement boss Tracey McDermott.
