The asset management business has announced the appointment of Abigail Herron as head of engagement in its global responsible investment team. She joins from Co-operative Asset Management, where she headed its corporate governance function.
Baker Tilly
Alex Birch has been appointed associate director in the advisory firm’s restructuring and recovery team. Birch has 18 years’ accounting, insolvency and restructuring advisory experience. She joins from KPMG.
Markel
The insurance company has recruited Zoe Woods as claims manager for its casualty treaty division. Woods previously handled the casualty portfolio at Alterra, where she was head of long tail reinsurance claims. Prior to that, she held claims positions at Catlin and Equitas.
Fundtech
The banking solutions firm has hired Chris Zingo as global head of sales. Zingo was most recently at Calypso Technology, where he was senior vice president of global sales and marketing. Prior to that, he was senior vice president for sales and marketing at SuperDerivatives, and senior vice president at Thomson Financial.
Qubit
The technology company has recruited Seamus Whittingham as vice president of commercial operations. Whittingham has over 10 years’ e-commerce experience. He was formerly managing director for Europe, the Middle East and Africa at ChannelAdvisor, and sales director for GSI Commerce.
Legal Education Foundation
The foundation has hired Matthew Smerdon as chief executive. He was previously deputy director at the BaringFoundation.
Hitachi Europe
The engineering and electronics company has appointed Klaus Dieter Rennert as chief executive. He was formerly chief executive of Hitachi Power Europe.
British Council for Offices
Neil Thompson, currently portfolio director at Great Portland Estates, has joined the BCO as president.
