The investment banking firm has announced the appointment of Andrew Speirs as managing director, and head of European restructuring and recapitalisation investment banking. He has over 25 years’ experience in the industry. Speirs previously held investment banking roles at Hawkpoint, Deutsche Bank and Morgan Grenfell.
Hogan Lovells
The law firm has hired Don McGown as a corporate partner in its London team. He primarily advises on international mergers and acquisitions, and corporate restructuring in telecommunications, media and financial services. McGown was most recently at Allen & Overy, where he was a partner.
AIG
The insurance business has recruited Wayne Knibbs as business development manager in its private client group. He was previously a broker at Keelan Westall and E Coleman. The firm has also promoted Rhiannon Holdham to business development manager. Prior to joining, she was a high net worth client manager at Jelf Group.
Deutsche Asset & Wealth Management
Phelim Bolger has joined DeAWM’s global client group in a senior coverage role, focusing on institutional clients in the UK and Ireland. He previously worked at HSBC Alternative Investments, where he was head of UK sales.
Autonomous Research
The research firm specialising in financial services has announced the appointment of Charlene Chu as a partner to establish an Asian research arm. She was most recently at Fitch Ratings in Beijing, where she was a senior director. Before that, Chu worked in emerging markets and international affairs at the Federal Reserve Bank of New York.
ACE Group
The insurance firm has made two appointments. Jane Anderson joins as environmental risk underwriter from Sportscover Europe. Stuart Elliot joins as political violence underwriter from Willis, where he was a divisional director.
