South African cyclist killed in crash
CYCLING: South African track cyclist Jeanne Nell has died following a crash during a keirin race in an attempt to qualify for this summer’s Commonwealth Games in Glasgow. Nell, 30, suffered head injuries at a velodrome in Bellville near Cape Town on Tuesday and later died in hospital. Cycling South Africa track commission director Johan Smith said: “South Africa’s cycling community mourns the loss of not only one it it’s top sprinters, but even more so the loss of one of its most beloved sons.”
