Any Other Business – 21/08
■ With the annual Edinburgh comedy festival now in full swing, what better for City delegates than a little political light relief in the form of Confessions of Gordon Brown, a satirical monologue about the former Prime Minister – played by Ian Grieve (pictured). The Capitalist hears that at least one of Brown’s former cabinet members has already made a cheeky appearance in the audience. But any disgruntled MPs who didn’t make the pilgrimage to Scotland will be pleased to know that the show is coming to London from 3 – 28 September, and very conveniently will also be down in Brighton, just in time for the Labour Party conference.
■ The charitable cause close to Boris Johnson’s heart, the Mayor’s Fund for London, is teaming up with London radio station Magic 105.4 on 12 September to put on “London’s Biggest Breakfast.” Companies in the capital are invited to host a fundraising breakfast to help feed thousands of school children in the City. To mark the occasion Magic 105.4 host Neil Fox will be broadcasting his breakfast show live from City Hall: “My three children always go off to school with a good breakfast inside them but not all kids are so lucky,” said Foxy.
