The underwriting arm of Hyperion Insurance Group has announced the appointment of Damian Crowe as a senior underwriter in its financial institutions division. Crowe was most recently at Chartis UK, where he was a senior underwriter in its financial lines division. Prior to that, he was a broker at FirstCity Partnership.
Gibson Dunn & Crutcher
The law firm has recruited Penny Madden as a partner. She previously worked at Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, where she was a partner.
BlackRock
Nick Moore has joined the asset manager as managing director and commodity specialist. Moore has covered raw materials for 30 years, and will be responsible for fundamental commodity analysis at the firm. He was formerly head of commodity research at RBS.
Hermes Commodities
The commodity management firm has appointed Fiona Boal as an agriculture analyst based in London. Foal has 15 years’ experience as a commodities specialist, and joins from Argonaut Capital Management, where she was director of commodity research. Prior to that, she was vice president and director of investments at Harbert Strategic Commodities Fund.
Exotix
Andreas Fessler has been appointed director and senior fixed income specialist in the investment banking boutique’s non-emerging markets credit markets team. Fessler has previously held various roles at UBS and Bruell Kallmus Bank.
Jones Day
Raymond McKeeve has joined the law firm as a partner in its private equity practice. McKeeve previously worked at Berwin Leighton Paisner, where he was a corporate finance partner and global head of its private equity practice.

The managed financial data company has hired Len Karpf as director of product development. He was formerly vice president of products and technology at Relationship Capital Partners.

The law firm has appointed Charles Williams as a partner in its New York energy, resources and infrastructure practice. He joins from Allen & Overy.
