MOST of us can say we’ve been to a boring conference but probably not to one that advertises itself as explicitly as…The Boring Conference. It’s coming to Conway Hall on the outskirts of the City in May and is the fourth event of its kind, having started as a joke in 2010. “We’ve got a session called Eric Clapton’s bookcase, a talk about overly literal German translations of English film titles and a man talking about eggs,” founder James Ward told The Capitalist. But it turns out boring ain’t so boring after all. While we’re preoccupied with the current swathe of flotations here in the City, Ward’s event offers a different point of view. “We’ve had some amazing speakers, like a man who counts all of his sneezes as an arbitrary way of measuring time. It can change the way you see the world and make you notice things more.”
