Venture capitalists pour £25m into big data firm eCommera
FAST growing retail technology company eCommera, which works with huge retailers like Asda and House of Fraser, has secured a further $41m (£25m) in funding from investors, it said yesterday.
The company, based in London, said investors like Sir Martin Sorrell’s WPP had put more cash into the company alongside backers such as West Coast Capital and Frog Capital. London-based firm Dawn Capital led the round.
Andrew McGregor, eCommera’s chief executive, said: “We are supported by an investment group that understands the power of data in solving the increasing complexities faced by retailers.”
The business offers retailers software that helps them engage with retail customers using large amounts of shopping data, a business trend known as big data.
The company has reported compound annual growth rates of 46 per cent over the past three years. It was founded in 2007.
Dawn Capital managing partner Norman Fiore said: “eCommera impressed us with their game-changing technology.”
