First world gold for Britain’s eights
ROWING: Great Britain won their first ever men’s eight title at the World Championships in South Korea yesterday. The team of Dan Ritchie, Tom Ransley, Alex Gregory, Pete Reed, Moe Sbihi, Andy Triggs Hodge, George Nash and Will Satch, along with cox Phelan Hill, finished ahead of Germany and the United States. Britain’s lightweight fours also won bronze to take the team’s medal count to five – two gold and three bronze – on the final day of the regatta.
