Defenders Phil Jones and Glen Johnson will also miss the games with Moldova and Ukraine, leading Hodgson to call up Cardiff defender Steven Caulker as cover.
However, Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger quickly allayed fears that Wilshere would be next to pull out after he was replaced in the first half of yesterday’s win over Spurs.
“Wilshere has a stomach bug,” Wenger confirmed. “Nothing that will stop him going to England.”
