Djokovic lurking for Murray at US
FORMER Wimbledon champion Andy Murray will face Holland’s Robin Haase in the first round of the US Open, which starts at Flushing Meadows on Monday.
The 27-year-old Scot, who won the New York grand slam in 2012, is seeded eighth this year with the draw paving the way for a potential meeting with world No1 Novak Djokovic in the quarter-finals.
Murray’s Rogers Cup conqueror Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is a possible fourth-round opponent, although his initial focus is on world No70 Haase, who he battled back from two sets down to beat during the 2011 US Open. The Briton has not reached a final since winning Wimbledon more than a year ago.
