Etherington too ill for fifth medal
RECORD-BREAKING skiier Jade Etherington, the first Briton to win four medals at a Paralympic Winter Games, missed out on the chance to compete for a fifth in Sochi yesterday due to illness.
Super-G gold medal winner Kelly Gallagher did complete her run in the visually impaired giant slalom though, finishing fifth.
Etherington later carried the flag for Great Britain at the closing ceremony, however.
The British team are now set to return home with six medals, their best tally for 30 years.
