Farah: Collapse not a big deal
DOUBLE Olympic champion Mo Farah described his collapse at the end of yesterday’s New York City half marathon as “not a big deal”.
The 30-year-old was accidentally tripped over at the halfway stage of the race, though recovered to finish second behind Kenya’s Geoffrey Mutai in one hour one minute and seven seconds.
Shortly after crossing the finish line Farah collapsed and was taken away in a wheelchair, but later allayed fears about his condition.
“I’m alright, I’m fine,” said Farah, set to compete in next month’s London Marathon. “I do remember sort of passing out. I tried so hard in the race, taking a fall and then going through. It’s not a big deal.”
