Godolphin call in former police chief to investigate operations
OWNER of troubled Godolphin stable Sheikh Mohammed has asked former Metropolitan Police chief Lord John Stevens to investigate all aspects of his equine empire.
Godolphin was rocked by a doping scandal earlier this year when former trainer Mahmood Al Zarooni admitted administering banned steroids to 22 horses based at Moulton Paddocks, Newmarket, and handed an eight-year ban.
Stevens, who helped the Football Association investigate illegal payments, has been approached after unlicensed veterinary products were seized at Stansted Airport and Moorley Farm.
