National Express shortlisted for Berlin Ringbahn contract
National Express has been shortlisted for the Berlin Ringbahn, a railway line around the centre of Berlin.

Following on from our recent success in winning two contracts to operate regional rail services in North-Rhine Westphalia, it confirms that our experience as the operator of the UK's leading franchise is recognised internationally. Our strong local team is already focused on putting together a high quality bid to deliver excellent services for customers and the people of Berlin.
The company, which employs 42,000 people and provides more than 800m journeys a year on bus, train, light rail and express coaches, has also been selected or two 15 year rail contracts in Germany. The contracts are for regional express services between Rheine-Munster-Cologne-Krefeld and a Bonn-Cologne-Wuppertal; the service is currently run by Deutsche Bahn. National Express will start operating the contracts in December 2015.
