First PGA tour win for Every
AMERICA’S Matt Every claimed his first PGA Tour victory late last night, overtaking Adam Scott in the closing stages of the Arnold Palmer Invitational in Florida to win by one stroke.
Every began the final round four strokes behind Scott, but four birdies in five holes saw him take over, while Australia’s Scott slipped to finish third.
A final-round 70 saw Every end 13 under par, while Keegan Bradley’s 72 earned the fellow American a top-two finish. Scott’s final-round 76 meant he ended 11 under par.
England’s Ian Poulter also hit a disappointing final-round 76, dropping 13 places to end 20th.
