Baidu wins US lawsuit dismissal
Baidu, the Chinese internet search firm, yesterday won the dismissal of a US lawsuit by pro-democracy activists who complained that Baidu had calibrated its search engine to block users in the US from viewing articles and videos advocating greater democracy in China. US District Judge Jesse Furman concluded that the results produced by Baidu’s search engine constituted protected free speech under the US Constitution.
