Chelsea calm Costa worries
CHELSEA have moved to play down fears star striker Diego Costa could face a prolonged spell on the sidelines after suffering a hamstring injury in training.
Initial suggestions were the £32m signing from Atletico Madrid, who has scored in both of Chelsea’s Premier League fixtures so far this season, could be out for six weeks.
While the Stamford Bridge club will carry out further assessments on the 25-year-old before making a definite prognosis, the Spain international is a major doubt for Saturday’s clash at Everton.
With Fernando Torres linked with a move to AC Milan and veteran Didier Drogba the club’s only other senior striker, it could force Jose Mourinho’s hand in the transfer market before Monday’s deadline.
