The professional body for the valuation sector has announced the appointment of April Mackenzie as chief operating officer. She is currently global head of governance and public policy at Grant Thornton.

Stuart Deacon has joined the accountancy and business advisory firm as a restructuring mergers and acquisitions (M&A) partner in its business restructuring team. Deacon was most recently at Ernst & Young, where he led its national distressed and accelerated M&A work.

The asset management firm has hired Philip Collins as a fund manager. Collins has over 25 years’ experience in the investment industry. He previously spent 18 years at Newton Investment Management.
Canaccord Genuity Wealth Management
Chris Albert has been appointed head of wealth planning for the wealth management business’s UK arm. He has 22 years’ industry experience, and has previously held various roles at Equiom Trust Company, Kleinwort Benson, and Vantage Property Solutions.

The investment management company has recruited Dan Stern as an investment director. He joins from 3i.
Man
Neil Mason has joined the alternative asset manager as senior managing director and lead portfolio manager of its GLG multi-strategy portfolios. He was formerly chief risk officer at Harvard Management Company. Prior to that, Mason was chief information officer at FRM Capital Advisors.
Faber Global
The insurance firm has hired Christine Drivas to its facultative reinsurance division. She previously worked at FM Global.
Eg Solutions
The software company has appointed John O’Connell as chief executive. He founded Staffware in 1984, which he sold in 2004. Since then, he has been chairman of various software firms, including Mtivity.
