Ferguson says United are fully behind Moyes
FORMER Manchester United boss Sir Alex Ferguson last night insisted that his successor David Moyes has the full backing of the club, despite a poor start to the team’s season.
Southampton’s late equaliser at Old Trafford on Saturday left United eighth in the Premier League table, eight points behind leaders Arsenal. Yet Ferguson says Moyes has time to put things right.
“He has great support at the club. There are absolutely no issues about it. Every club needs a little bit of luck and hopefully we’ll get the luck,” he told its TV channel.
Moyes said on the weekend that his team are not suffering from a lack of the so-called fear factor that opponents felt when Ferguson was at the helm. “The fear comes from the team on the pitch. The players have always been the ones that have to turn out and do it.”
