Something fishy going on for Sir John Beckwith
HAVE you heard the mysterious tale of Geoffrey the missing goldfish? City legend Sir John Beckwith, has sent a memo to all staff at 124 Sloane Street, where his fund management firm Pacific Investments is based, pleading for information about the fish who went missing on 17 April.
“I hasten to add that some have suggested that the dog, Ben might have eaten Geoffrey but he was upstairs in the family office for most of this day and he was not office based on Thursday 17 April 2014,” wrote Sir John.
Sir John offered up a £100 reward for information and stressed his seriousness: “I am extremely unhappy at the thought that someone in this office might have taken him – as perhaps a joke? This is no laughing matter.”
The Capitalist understands the pet was a gift from an old colleague. Aside from Ben the dog, are there any leads? “Carl Jani, CEO of Argentex, Pacific Investments FX brokering business, was seen eating sushi on Thursday,” Sir John’s son Henry jokingly told The Capitalist yesterday. But who could be the real culprit?
